QR Codes types

Knowing the difference between Static, Dynamic and Dynamic Pro QR Codes will help you select the best match for your projects' needs.

Dynamic

All Dynamic QR Codes are link to a short URL (relying on Unitag servers). Short URLs are the link to your content. On each scan, this URL will be displayed and redirect to your QR Code content. This short URL helps you using advances features like changing your QR Codes content, statistics and redirection filters.

Despite relying on short URLs, you don't have to edit it to make the QR Code work properly.

When creating a new QR Code on console.unitag.io, the Dynamic type is selected by default with a Web/URL action.

Static

This QR Code type definitely encodes its content. Once created, Static QR Codes can't be modified. If scanned, content will be directly displayed. This QR Code type is independent from Unitag servers and won't allow statistics or redirection filters.

Every QR Code with another action than web/URL will be static by default.

Dynamic Pro

Dynamic Pro QR Codes are associated to a custom Domain Name shown in the short URL. On every other point, it stays the same as a classic Dynamic QR Code.

Note

Custom Domain Names must be registered before creating any Dynamic Pro QR Code.
